A learning experience....

Well class,

We have come to the end of our journey! =) My experience with your class was a great one. I absolutely loved our class 8/9 block! By far you were my favorite class. Without a doubt we had a great class! Thank you all of you for an awesome year! We learned so many things and completed various fun (oh so fun fun activities hahaha =) ) throughout the year. And although at times some of you asked "Ms. why do we have to read this?" or "why do we have to do this?" I am sure that you learned valuable information from the material we covered this year.

It is a bitter sweet goodbye because although  I am happy that the school year is over, I am really going to miss our class! I am going to miss every one of you. Yes, this even includs you Ramon who spent the whole time SLEEPING! I wish you endless luck in your future endevours and above all, I wish you have a great summer and successful sophomore year.

For this last blog entry, I want you to write me a reflection post. (This is similar to the reflection letter that we have done for each portfolio throughout the marking periods.)

In this blog spot I want you to reflect on what we covered this year.
       - Include your favorite book, poem, short story, and/or other literary work that we have covered.
         - Include your favorite activity and an explanation as to why this was your favorite activity.
(I could almost picture someone like Carlos or Jonathan saying "Ms. what if I didn't have a favorite book or activity?" And altough I am going to really find this HARD TO BELEIVE because we did a lot of fun activities to make the not so interesting material, fun. Well for those of you like Carlos and Jonathan, you would tell about the book and activity that you disliked the most.)
         - Include what you learned.
         - The last part of your blog should be labeled like this:

         A word of advice:
The title is self-explanatory. For this part, I want you to give some advice for the in-coming
     freshmen.
            - Include what to do in class.
            - Include what not to do.
            - Include what ANNOYS ME for students to do in class.
            - Include any word of advice that you believe if you knew before hand, would have
helped you done better in class.
                                - Please be detailed for this part because I am going to show them these posts next year.

One last thing guys. Good luck! I better see ALL OF YOU graduating in 2013! You were my half first class and like I told you all, you are my babies. With this said, I expect to see you all on the field in June 2013. Please don't let me down.

  1. my favorite book this year was breathing underwater because this book tells alot about what anger can do to you. its a good book i liked it alot. this book is the only book that i really liked. i think next years freshman class might also like this book. its very interesting.

we did have alot of activities this year. some were fun some were boring. ithink iliked the activity for earth day that we did. it was for earth day and i think for night. we had went outside on a nice and hot day to go plant some flowers. it gets you out of the class to do something beside real work. what we did was, that after we had planted the flowers, we had read out peoms for night. it was alot of fun.

  2. My favorite book was all of them because they were all good. All these book gave a lesson. My favorite activity was when we went outside to plant flowers. I learn about reading and writing.

This is a word of advice to the freshman do your work. Don't do bad stuff. What makes Ms.Benitez mad is when she is talking and you interrupt her. Do not do your work at the last minute because its annoying to try and finish it.

  3. my favorite book was the child called it, i didn't like any poems. my favorite activity was doing the play because we got to be a different person.

    word of advice.

i suggest that you do not slack off or your going to be doing a huge load of work at the end. don't be absent much or your going to miss a lot of review and work that could be used on a test or quiz. it bothers the teacher when you talk during a lesson. or when people ask to go to the bathroom all the time. as long as you understand and do the homework then you know what going to be on the quiz or test. if you don't do any work you are seriously going to regret it. and when your friends move on you are still in the same grade and subject level. as long as you do your work you can still have fun in class

my favorite book was romeo and juliet because it was about love.

you up coming freshmen should listen to the teacher and pay attention to what she tells you. you wouldn't want to get caught if you didn't do your home work. you would learn alot by paying attention.

  5. <<<<<----EDWIN DURAN WUSH HERE 6/21/10---->>>>My favorite book this year was the first book we read " The Child Called It" because it was very interesting and a very exciting book. The events were horrifying and very sad. I also think i liked this book the most because it was filled with dramatic events and many emotions. My favorite activity this year as when we went out and planted flower and read our poems out at the courtyard for those who perished in the holocaust. This was my favorite activity because i felt that we weren't just doing it to remember the dead ones but we were also doing something great for our mother earth. This year i also learned many new things that i didn't know before including thesis statements and expository essays. By far this was my favorite class.
A Word Of Advice: For you incoming little annoying immature freshman's (sike lol) i suggest that you complete all your work and do everything you are supposed to do in class because if you don't you could fail and not be out there on the stage in 2014 with all your friends. What not to do: Don't cut class its ok once or twice but no more, This is not middle school its High School this is where your real journey to what you will become in life starts. Ignore people that try to make problems their not worth it they just want to mess you up. THE ANNOYS: What annoys Ms.Benitez is when you run around in class, talk too much, when you don't do your work, and when you act very immature. Ms. Benitez is very nice, very fun, and she likes to laugh. Remember this " BEHIND EVERY SUCCESSFUL PERSON THERE IS ALWAYS A PACK OF HATERS" What i mean by this is that out there in life when you are successful there will be people who will try to mess you up. Watch your back and overcome those obstacles, Don't drop out of school, stay away from drugs and violence. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY HAVE A FUN GREAT FRESHMAN YEAR BECAUSE IT ONLY COMES ONCE IN YOUR LIFE AND ITS SUPPOSED TO BE YOUR GREATEST YEAR IN HIGH SCHOOL.

  7. MY Favorite book this year is the first book we read. The book we first read was "A Child Called It". I found this book most interesting. Its the only book i actually read out of school. My favorite activity is when we acted out "Inherit The Wind". Then Ramon shouted out i have a dream which had nothing to do with the book. It was hilarious.

A word of advice is to not listen to Edwin. He is wrong. Your freshmen year is the year you should work the hardest in. Once your done with this year everything will get easier. You will also be able to leave early if you do good your freshmen year. When she says "Hint Hint" i promise you it will be on a quiz or test or exit slip or do now or something.lol. i Wish i would have tried harder i believe i couldve had honor roll all four marking periods. Well to the upcoming freshmen good luck with ms.smiles i mean ms. benitez
